Wallet Microfinance Institutions S.C established in 2018, which initially working in import and export business had a very good reputation with Commercial Bank of Ethiopia as it’s a main partner for finance related services. Following the NBE new directive in April 2020 to allow nonbank players in the e-payments business, Wallet Microfinance Institutions S.C become one of the first private fin-tech company and start Walletbirr mobile banking who get license to provide wallet services by fulfilling all financial and technical requirements in october 23,2023 from National Bank of Ethiopia. Wallet Microfinance Institutions S.C is now acquiring a feature rich digital wallet platform which has all the basic wallet services such as deposit, withdrawal, transfer, remittance (domestic and international), top-up and bill payments for utility service providers.

What we provide

Walletbirr’s digital wallet platform has a functionality for enterprise to make bulk salary payments and Micro saving and loan features for customers. With its open ended integration capability, a secure Application Programming Interfaces (API) is ready to accept integrations with banks, international money transfer (IMT) organizations, other service providers and business institutions in a real time. This will also enable the platform to easily and seamlessly establish interaction with online shop/marketplaces to support the emerged e-commerce business. Walletbirr solution is simple to use: a sleek and simple design experience for customers and allows transactions to be conducted through QR code from an intuitive user interface.
