  • 18 years or above who is capable of entering a contractual agreement with Wallet Birr.
  • Anyone who can fulfill KYC (know your customer) requirements like active mobile number, recent photo and a valid identity card during subscription.

Account Management

  • Directly from your mobile device via Wallet Birr app.

  • Yes, if your company is linked with Wallet Birr account and setup salary payment method you can recieve your payment through Wallet Birr.
  • Merchant user logs into the web portal/app and selects ‘My Profile’ on the home page
  • The screen will reflect the Merchant user personal as well as business details
  • User Selects Change password
  • Submit
  • Request sent to MobiFin platform.
  • User enters the current password and the new password
  • MobiFin validates the current password
  • Password is changed successfully and notification for the same is sent to the user.

  • User enters the Registered mobile number and OTP
  • MobiFin validates the OTP and requests user to enter the new password
  • User enters the new password
  • Password is generated successfully and notification for the same is sent to the user.

  • Mobifin validated the MPIN and asks him to enter the new MPIN.

  • User re- enter the new MPIN.

Adding Money

  • Goto to your bank Mobile banking app.
  • Choose transfer to Wallet Birr.
  • Fill your mobile number and the amount you want to send.
  • Then Submit .
  • you will recieve notification.
  • Goto to nearby Wallet Birr agents.
  • Provide the necessary information like Identity card , mobile number etc.
  • The agent will deposit your money to your Wallet Birr account.
  • You will recieve notification.
  • You can find Wallet Birr agent location in the about us page.

Sending Money

  • Tap the Money transfer button on your home screen.
  • Fill the receipant information or scan qr code.
  • Enter the amount you wish to send.
  • Once youve entered the desired amount and authenticate the transaction and we’ll do the rest.
  • Your will receive notification when the transaction complete

The Customer needs to be physically present in front of Branch user to provide OTP

  • Branch user logs in to the mobile application or web interface.
  • User selects Request Merchant Payment.
  • User enters the phone number of customer
  • User enters the amount to be transferred from customer
  • Enters the description for the transaction.
  • Clicks Submit.
  • System provides the confirmation notification screen with summary of transaction details for user to confirm.

    • Currently Wallet Birr support ETB and will support other currencies in the future.
    • The Branch user logs into the app/web.

    • User selects “Pull Money” service.
    • User will select the teller assigned to him/her
    • User verifies the details and provides PIN to pull money from the specific Teller.
    • Once submitted, the user will be able to see success message on screen. He will also receive notification on his registered mobile number and Email Id. Teller will also receive the notification of debit.
    • Branch user logs in to the web/app and selects Merchant Refund option
    • User provides transaction id
    • User validates the request and requests for the PIN
    • User verifies the details and provides PIN
    • The refund request will be performed
    • User selects “Withdraw Money” service.
    • User will enter the mobile number of Merchant Top Owner account.
    • User will enter all the required fields like Amount, PIN and submit.
    • User will be able to see the details on confirmation page.
    • Once submitted, the user will be able to see success message on screen. He will also receive notification on his registered mobile number and Email Id. Merchant Top Owner user will also receive the notification of credit.
    • User selects ‘P2C Transfer’ service
    • User will select the Teller under his/her structure
    • User provides amount of fund to be transferred to the specific teller.

    Report

    • Branch User can view the recent 5 transactions on home page of web/app
    • Branch User logs into the web portal and selects ‘Transactions’ on the home page.
    • The screen will reflect the recent transactions in detail, also the filter will help to modify the search criteria.
